Spent 10 days at this resort in August 2015. Surf was flat so decided to do my open water certification with Anugerah's in house PADI certified trainer (Mike Veenstra).The course was great and the tuition really professional and confidence inspiring. Got the theory and pool dives completed then headed out for 4 dives across two days to complete the certification. Second day was at a location called Jurassic Park which was incredible. Monstrous coral bommies(?) teeming with fish and corals. Great fun. Resort and staff also very good. Highly recommended.

In August 2013, I ended in Rote after travelling the Indonesian part of Timor for 1 week. There were no dive centers on the internet when i checked before leaving on my trip.

However when I arrived in Rote checked again on the internet and Anugerah Surf Dive Resort was offering diving. I did only two dives, but from what I saw, the diving potential is there and untouched as Pulau Rote is not crowded. Mike is really professionnal and the dives were enjoyable, I definitely recommend the dive resort and location.

This resort is the first (and currently only) dive operation in Rote, and Mike (who started the dive operation at this resort) has done an incredible job of exploring the area and discovering some really spectacular dive sites. We were visiting with the primary aim of investigating the manta rays in the area, and Mike and his team were invaluable in their support and advice. Mike has discovered one site in particular (named "Jurassic Park") that appears to be a cleaning station for both species of manta ray, which is something very special and we are excited to investigate this further with the help and support of Mike and team at this resort. Even when there are no mantas this site is stunning with healthy coral, dramatic terrain (above and below the water) and a diverse array of large and small reef critters.
The overall service of the dive operation was very good, Mike is a fantastic guide and has vast knowledge of the area and a strong attention to safety. The resort itself is set in a beautiful beach front location and the staff are all super friendly. We were very happy with the accommodation and service throughout our stay and will definitely be returning to this resort.

Overall great experience , highly recommend, stunning setting , great service, even had an encounter with a manta ray !!

We had two fantastic dives with this dive operator (the only one on the Island) and we could not have been happier with the service.
The equipment is new and in full working order, the boat used was fast and comfortable and the dive sites were varied and interesting.
Mike was a superb guide and explained in great detail about the island and the diving on offer and from his advice he lead us on two dives on some outlying islands. The underwater landscape was as expected from Mikes explanation of what we would see and with a huge diversity of fish life and healthy coral two satisfied divers emerged from the water.
Rote island itself is stunning and possibly the most beautiful I have seen in Indonesia and I only wish I had more time to have stayed longer and dived again with Mike but for sure I will be back.
I would not hesitate to go back to Rote and to dive more, there is still so much to be discovered above and below the water. Thanks for a great stay and of course the wonderful diving.

I visited Rote for the surf but got a pleasant surprise about the diving.

I have only been diving in two sites prior to this (Great Barrier Reef and Manly in Sydney), so I don't have much to compare it to. That said, it compares extremely well with those other two diving experiences. We had the diving sites to ourselves and it was a relaxing diving experience in beautiful unpolluted sites. I was a nervous diver, not having been diving much since I got my Open Water license. Mike was very professional and helped calm my nerves. He is a very laid back guy, but I felt safe in his hands.

Mike is passionate about conservation and by diving with Anugerah it should hopefully help the locals to appreciate how important it is to protect the natural environment so it doesn't end up like many other sites in South East Asia.

I enjoyed my first dive in rote 2014. I want to go different spot if I visit in rote again.
I wish see manta and big cuttlefish...
