We had an amazing vacation at Bunaken Island Resort diving with Sven and his dive crew. It is by far the best diving we have ever done. It was evident that the dive masters loved their jobs. Our dive guide found so many things for us on every dive and seemed genuinely excited about showing us.We also felt very safe with him. They did a great job dividing the groups up by experience. This is very important for us as we don't want to hold anyone back that is more experienced nor do we want to have a less than amazing dive because we are with a beginner group still trying to figure things out. The dive guides did a perfect job with this aspect of our trip and we appreciated it! Everything was very organized and we always knew what we were going to be doing as they did a pre- dive brief before each dive. We are intermediate divers but I feel that beginning divers as well as very experienced divers would have a great trip just as we did. They did not set a time limit for the dives and you just surfaced when you were low on air. This is a very important for an enjoyable dive experience. We really can recommend this dive shop to anyone. This is the place you want to be!
On a side note, the resort itself was also amazing. Good food, great accommodations, friendly people, CLEAN HOT water, and you only had to walk a few feet to the dive boat every morning!

We stayed at the Bunaken Island Resort a week ago. We were very happy with the friendly staff over there en we had the best vacation ever! I will have to go on a diet because of the wonderfull food served in the restaurant. We have to get used to cook ourselves again at home. The cottages are very comfortable en the views are really stunning!
But the best part was however -without a doubt- the diving. My boyfriend en me never dived before and we were glad that Sven the diving instruction gave us all the time to watch and learn. Later on a friend of us told us that we will never find such a good divingspot as the Bunaken is (so we're spoiled already)
The location of the resort and divingschool is perfect. There are several good divespots nearby and we had the joy of seeing a lot of turtles (big ones!), ghost pipe fish, napoleon fish, scorpionfis and so on and on.
Overall a great destination for everyone who wants to dive and it's doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a professional diver. There's a lot to see and everything goes in a relaxed and comfortable way. We sure want to come back!

I have visited this resort every year since 2005 and it's a real privilege to have found it. This is my favourite place in the world. Diving is always good with Sven as he is as passionate a diver as you are likely to find on the planet. Food is always great. Sunsets are amazing. The staff are very friendly. Don't know what else to say except visit them and you will have the most amazing holiday ever.

Me and my friend have been staying at the Bunaken Island Resort just a few weeks ago and are still stunned by this unforgetable experience. We heard about North-Sulawesi being one of the best diving areas in the world, thus were recommended by some other diving experts and island adventurers to visit Bunaken Island.
We decided like our friends to stay at the Bunaken Island Resort, as we wanted to have not just a fabolous diving experience, but also a first class stay at the island.
The service and friendliness of the people running the resort was way above our expectations and we only can recommned anyone who wants to visit this stunning part of Indonesia to follow our recommendation.
It is a dreamful scenarie, a perfectly arranged service, western style, fully air-conditioned, WiFi access, amazing fresh food and a safe and well proportioned service. The managemnet speaks not just English, but Dutch and German. The dive master Sven, a German chap, for us is the secret star of this palce, as he has always a open ear for all belongings and is truely a dive expert who loves his job to the best.
