Over 12 years experience diving, and teaching diving courses in the Gili Islands. Dual qualified, experienced SSI and Padi diving Instructors and Dive Masters.
At Manta Dive we pride ourselves on maintaining the levels of service that you would expect from a much smaller dive operation, combining a quality service, great facilities, small groups, individual attention, high safety standards and of course a lot of fun while you enjoy your holiday.
Manta Dive is located right on the beach of Gili Trawangan. Our dive center is purposely built to cater for both qualified divers looking to enjoy the incredible aquatic life that can be discovered around the Gili Islands, as well as for complete beginners that want to learn to dive in a safe and controlled environment with tried professionals.
The diving is year round, the visibility is 25m+, and the water temperature is 28+ degrees for most of the year. Although the coral in the shallow waters around the Gili Islands was damaged back in 2000 by El Nino, there is still plenty of coral to support the vaste array of marine life that can be seen on every dive. Turtles are in abundance and these usually shy creatures are not afraid of the divers so you can really have a close encounter. White tip reef sharks, sting rays, cuttlefish, moray eels and much more are every day sightings. For the macro enthusiasts and photographers we have a great new muck dive at ´Magic Pier´.
We make special day trips on demand, including lunch on the beach in between 2 dives. These dives tend to be over an hour long as the dive site is small, shallow and right on the beach. The weirdest creatures can be found here, ghost pipefish, sea horses, mimic octopus, and much more. My wife and I loved it here. We went diving with Manta Dive about 4 years ago now, when my wife got her open water certificate, and I got my advanced. We had such fun with the people here, and on the island as a whole, that we decided to go back last month.
I think it says a lot about a dive school that both of the instructors we learned with all that time ago are still there now. They obviously love what they do, and do it in a great place. Why would you leave????
I'd whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone going to Gili. It's a great place, a great atmosphere (and the bungalows are amazing as well!!!!)

Loved every day, even in rain and storm we had good times
The diving is organized efficiently and safe, but with loads of fun
I have been diving around the world for years and I can honestly say that this Dive Shop is one of the best I dove with.
The Bungalows are Spacious and equipped with all you need, very nice accomodation and worth the money you pay for it.
Thanks to all the dive guides and Instructors for a really good time and hope to see you soon!

Manta Dive experience was everything we wanted in our open water completion. Also an important note was that you should stay with them in a bungalow,which are comfortable enough for three adults. Manta accommodated us and even allowed one of us who wasn't diving to tag along for snorkling. The instructors are patient as my wife whom initially had problems equaliking but the instructors were very helpful. In short I left feeling confident about our open water certification, by the way the water was crystal and full of underwater life.
Congrats Manta you are certainly as professional as advertised, see you next time.

We were travelling one month in Asia and the stay in Manta Dive was absolutely one of the greatest things in our trip. We really enjoyed our dives as well as the accommodation in our own bungalow. The guides, especially Magic was awesome! He truly took good care of us and made our stay unforgettable. We were really lucky to see all the wonderfull things under water thanks to our great guide. Hopefully we have change to stay in Manta Dive again in future!

I have been diving around asia for years and this shop is certainly one of the smoothest run I have experienced, the staff are professional but the atmosphere is very relaxed, we really enjoyed our dives and found the guides to be awesome, eddy and maswandi not only have great eyes but even made sure our gear was taken on and off the boat and took the time to look through what we had seen with us after each dive, a nice touch. The shop was pretty busy but the groups were small and everyone was happy, which we thought was the best thing about it. We really enjoyed having a beer at the end of the day with everyone, a top spot in Asia for us and we will be back again.
