Description for the dive shop TOPDIVE MooreaTOPDIVE Moorea is a complete dive center located in the heart of the InterContinental Resort hotel in Moorea. A second location at the Hilton Hotel. The divecenter is part of a 13 centers dive network based on 7 islands in French Polynesia.
Moorea is the sister island of Tahiti. To get there: either by ferry boat from Papeete taking around 25 minutes or by plane taking around 7 minutes. Upon the sight of the majestic mountains of this lush green island, you are immediately in a relaxed mode and feel like you are on vacation. From the Vaiare quay or the airport, it takes around 25 minutes to get to our divecenters. Our professional team of instructors and divemasters will immediately sort you out for your gear and get you ready for the morning dives. Moorea is one of the best places for novice or refresher dives since the divesites are relatively shallow and currents remain constant. 3 dives are scheduled per day - 8 am, 10am and 2pm. From the divecenter located on the East side of the island, the dive sites are around 10 to 15 minutes away by boat. Most ocean dives are done in the morning and introductory or certifications dives are done in the afternoon in the calm and reasurring waters of the lagoon. Moorea diving is one of the best places for shark diving! Since French Polynesia has some of the best shark diving in the South Pacific - Moorea is THE place to observe at least 3 species of reef sharks: black-tipped shark, grey shark and the lemon shark. Lemon sharks are a main attraction at the Sharks' dining room divesite. TOPDIVE Moorea divecenter features a PADI specialty called the , Polynesian Shark Diver (PSD) wherin the 2 specialty dives will be focused on the observation of these species in the aim of better understanding and dispelling all the misinformation on sharks. Other interesting dive sites are the Opunohu canyon dives that promise impressive undersea topography. Sightings of moray eels, nurse sharks and various colorful reef fish abound. Other sites such as the Rays' corridor feature many spotted eagle rays. User reviews
