Die unter deutsch- englischer Leitung stehende, direkt im Nuweiba Resort Swisscare beheimatete Basis gefällt durch einen gepflegten Eindruck (sowohl Basis, Verkaufs- als auch Schulungsraum) und vor allem durch einen hohen Sicherheitslevel: gutes Leihequipment (Mares-, Apeks-, Suunto-, OMS-Produkte), einen gut gewarteten Coltri Sub MCH16 Kompressor für Luft- Nitrox und Heliumgemische, rund 75 Tanks 7-15l (id.Hpts. 80cu/ft Alutanks), Doppel 80cu/ft sowie Stageflaschen, INT- und DIN-Anschlüsse), Notfallmappe und Notfallsauerstoff in den Fahrzeugen. Das Angebot der Basis lässt sowohl für Sport- als auch technische Taucher keine Wünsche offen.

Auch der Tauchbetrieb gefällt: Kleine, aufeinander abgestimmte Gruppen, Eingehen auf die Wünsche zu Tauchspots, gute Briefings (deutsch-/englischsprachig) und kompetente Guides, die ihre Tauchgründe nebst ihrer „Bewohner“ aus dem FF kennen und für jeden Erfahrungslevel das Passende bieten. Bei (Voraus-) Buchung von 5- oder 10- Tagestauchpakten erhält man sowohl Nitrox for free als auch unlimitiertes (und auch ggf. ungeguidetes) Hausrifftauchen. Tauchlehrer können in Absprache mit der Basis die Infrastruktur nutzen und ihre Schüler vor Ort selbst unterrichten. Beim ersten Tauchgang erhalten die Taucher ein vorbildliches und ausführliches Briefing zu allen relevanten Sicherheitsinformationen (Notfallnummern, Sauerstoff, Notfallhandy etc.).

Getaucht wird von Land aus. Die rund 30 Spots werden in 5 – 30 Minuten angefahren. Darüberhinaus werden Ausflüge z.B. in den Nationalpark Abu Galum (Fahrzeit rund 1,5 Std) angeboten. Das speziell für Fotografen interessante flache Hausriff bietet Hart- und Weichkorallen, Seegraswiesen, bunte Riffische, Oktopusse, Anglerfische, Nacktschnecken, Schildkröten und derzeit (Stand 04/2011) die extrem seltenen Mimic Octopusse.

Ausbildung: Die Basis bietet Ausbildung nach Padi, TDI und CMAS von PADI OWSI bis zum TDI-Advanced Trimix an. Das ruhige, professionelle und routinierte Auftreten von Sarah und Daniel Pikarski überzeugt absolut.

Alles in Allem absolut empfehlenswert für Taucher, die eine ruhige, familiäre Atmosphäre und tauchen abseits des Massentourismus suchen.

On site at the Swisscare Resort - Nuweiba, mere metres from the beach...ready, willing and able to show you some of the best shore diving Nuweiba has to offer. I cannot thank Daniel and Sarah enough for their hospitality, their knowledge and their guidance over the week we stayed.

Waking early for a leisurely breakfast on our balcony, followed by a wander down to the dive centre around 9.30 to prepare kit at a speed other than 'breakneck' as we'd been used to previously around other centres we've dived with..was something of a revelation. They..of course, are already well prepared for our arrival, and ready whenever we are to move off to our chosen site. On arrival at the dive sites, time enough for chatting whilst sorting kit, detailed briefings on the proposed dives and what we could expect to see, followed by quite simply, the most relaxed diving ever.

If you're into photography, and my husband is... the perfect place to spend time grabbing that perfect shot before moving off to find another wonder to snap. No rush, no hassle, serene, safe and has you wanting to get right back to it the second you're out of the water. Such unspoiled beauty, and some most unsual smaller critters. Sarah..How you find all those teensy creatures underwater for us to enjoy is beyond me... but I'm glad you do ! Your knowledge of the area is astounding, so from Mat and I..thank you.

The variety at the local sites is amazing, and there's plenty of sites to choose from to satisfy even the most demanding diver.

The wide range of services offered has something to please everyone from your very first underwater experience, to something far more adventurous, you won't be disappointed.

If, like me, you are a less experienced Diver, and don't have thousands of logged hours, then I can't recommed African Divers enough. The patience shown, the understanding and above all the knowledge gained even on a relaxing afternoon over beer on the Centre Verandah is worth as much to me, as the enjoyment of the dive itself.

This, in my mind, is how it's supposed to be ! Nothing seems to have been too much trouble for this team, and being made to feel so welcome is worth a million rushed dives experienced elsewhere (NO names mentioned and certainly not limited to one specific country !)

You WON'T find that sort of attitude at African Divers, thank heavens !

For anyone still in two minds... I hope my ramblings can convince you to visit these guys, because they definately deserve recognition for making the second leg of our Egyptian trip this year one that we will most definately never forget. So much so,I've already lined up flights for later this year and am counting the hours.

EGYPT IS SAFE AND AS GOOD (IF NOT BETTER), THAN EVER

We returned home yesterday (boo hoo wah!), from another fabulous holiday in Nuweiba, our third in recent years, thanks due by the bucketful, to Sarah and Daniel of African Divers and Alvin and his amazing team at the Swisscare hotel.

Located on the Gulf of Aquaba facing the stunning mountains of Saudi, Nuweiba is served by Taba and Sharm airports with transfers taking approx 1 and 2 hours respectively.
I am a little reluctant (call it selfish if you like), to rave too much about Nuweiba for fear that too many people will turn up and we may have to share the dive sites with others.
We had no concerns about travelling here after the revolution; in fact we booked this trip just a couple of days before the President finally stepped down.
During our two weeks we were hard pushed to tell any difference in anything at all compared to our last visit, except the distinct lack of tourists.
A couple of evenings I borrowed a bicycle and rode into the bustling port area and the Bedouins were all as friendly as ever, wishing me a happy a holiday and thanking me for coming to Egypt

The Swisscare hotel is the place to be if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday, with absolutely top spec service from all of the team.
The rooms are huge and you get two of them, forming a suite comfortably capable of accommodating 4 adults in two single and one enormous double bed, and two children on smaller units. Both rooms have a/c, TV, shower, WC. Etc

The hotel is thoughtfully laid out in a wide V shape so that all rooms have a view of the sea and mountains from their balconies. The pool area is centrally located and the beach is clean, both have sun shelters and loungers.
There is a small bar area with pool table and darts board, a selection of books and board games, comfy chairs and TV.

African Divers, owned by Sarah and Daniel, is located directly on the hotel beach, just a short walk from the breakfast table !

Sarah and Daniel can offer a wide range of dive options, from DSD, daily dive packages, a whole range of PADI courses and some pretty high spec tech diving.
There is also the option to do dive trips into the national parks, Ras Mumlah, Abu Galum etc

If you fancy a day off from diving, there are a number of trips that can be arranged for you.

We have had some incredibly good times here, we have seen a lot, learned a lot and certainly laughed a lot. (Remember, diving is fun)

Oh, and finally,

The Swisscare reef is just a few minutes’ walk across the beach from the dive centre, only a few metres deep and teeming with life, we absolutely love it.

We have been divin in the Read Sea from 2000 and we only dive with African Divers as they are a very proesffesion outfit. And are the only dive centre that dive all the Nuweiba dive sites, and after many years in Nuweiba they have in the sast year have found 3 new sites. 1 of which has longnosed hawk fish not found on any other local dive site.have made over 300 dives under the banner of African Divers Nuweiba with not a bad one. and hope to do many more Nuweiba dives in the years tio come.

We have just completed our PADI rescue diver course with African Diver's in Nuweiba. Run by Sarah & Daniel, African Diver's is a professional, extremely knowlegeable 5-star dive centre but with a personable touch. Groups are no larger than 6 diver's, dive sites are untouched and generally unexplored by anyone else and the amount of marine life to be seen is immense. Very relaxed diving indeed. Our course was taught by Daniel and we picked up so many hints and tips that we both felt much more confident by the end of the course. Highly recommended. A very different experience from simply following a dive guide - diving with African diver's gives you the freedom to explore yourself. And Shadow and Dax (doggies) are welcoming too :-).

African Divers is a great place to be and to dive with. Both Sarah and Daniel know the dive sites very well and don't hesitate to do the extra fin kick to show you all the critters around. It's fun to dive with them even if you carry heavy cameras with you and are really slow while taking photos :)
It's a familiar place far away from the crowds.
Try it you'll love it!

African Divers Nuweiba bieten einfach den PERFEKTEN SERVICE! Warum ich schon 3. Mal dort war? Die Tauchplätze sind super, die Betreuung ist hervorragend und das Equipment ist in sehr gutem Zustand. Das Personal hat immer ein offenes Ohr für Wünsche und ist sehr hilfsbereit. African Divers Nuweiba ist nur zu empfehlen! Taucht mit ihnen und ihr werdet es nicht bereuen!

As you can see I am very satisfied with African Divers Nuweiba. The staff is professional, passionate, interested in what the guests want. They come to the level of the guests and from there on you can learn what you want.
And, besides that, you can have a good laugh!
