We had a perfect week diving with Manta Diving Lanzarote.
Owners Ben and Rachel are very welcoming and relaxed.
Together with instructor Olly, they run the school smoothly, make all guests feel at home, support all requested levels, answer all questions and maintain the required safety rules with remarkable ease.
The divecenter is located at walking distance of the waterfront where multiple dive-sites for all kinds of levels are available.
A surprisingly rich animallife and an occasional huge ray (Stompy) or shark made the diving very interesting.

I had a dive holiday in Oct 2013 with this dive centre, the first time I've been in the water for almost ten years. After checking out my skills were still present and correct, I was led on my best dives yet so far in the 80 dives I've got logged. I saw much more undersea life than I had expected from the reviews I had read before going to Lanzarote - and as they said, 'you just never know what may turn up in the Atlantic'. This turned out to be my first time diving with sharks and a highlight was seeing several kinds of ray, including an electric ray. Ben and Rachel were great hosts, the team who support them were very professional and the other divers I met were an inspiration. Definetly one dive centre to return to - perhaps in spring or early summer for a contrast.

Just back from a week in Puerto del Carmen, this was a family holiday with diving rather than a diving holiday. Picked Manta Diving because they seemed geared up for 'Try Dives' and my nephew and his girlfriend wanted to give it a go. I can say that both Rachel and Ben (owners) were really helpful and the instructors Andy and 'cool' Ben were fantastic. The bay at 3.0 metres deep is just perfect for novices. Loads of things to see, great experience.
My brother-in-law and myself (both advanced) did three more dives to round off our holiday and Manta just fitted us in at short notice when we could get away from the families for two or three hours.
Every dive company in the area all dive off the same spot on the beach front / jetty and Manta are the closest dive shop. Their hire equipment was in good condition and just can't fault the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.
A couple of interesting points to note would be 'It's Cold' in March and we dived with 6mm full wetsuits with hoods because we needed them as the water temp was 18 degrees. (obviously we are warm water devotees and proud of it). However this affects your bouyancy so you're strapping 8/9/10 kg on your belt, just to get you down. obviously you can trim this weight with your BCD during the dive, but it makes for an interesting walk back up the beach to the crew van parked on the hard standing. Another thing to be wary of is that the sea gets a tad choppy and we had an intersting 'Big Step' entry off the jetty into about a two foot swell, so make sure you have your snorkel so you don't use your air waiting on the rest of the group forming up. We also had a very interesting dive off a boat that took us further down the coast. This too was in two foot swells and was very tiring, as getting back on the boat in full gear with weights was NOT easy. (not really recommended)
The rating I would give Manta Diving is a FIVE on ALL counts, the only four is something outwith their control for not a huge variety of different things to see during the dives.
Would I go back and use them again - Absolutely YES - Best wishes Nev.
P.S. Clancey's Irish Bar above the dive shop is great for a 'cold beer' and Chilli burger after the divings over.

Best dive shop on the Island very helpful and friendy staff would reccomend to young and old alike.

I recently returned to Manta Diving in March 2012 having dived with them in May 2010. Ben & Rachel are excellent instructors & make you feel welcome & provide a good all round service. I did 6 dives as already qualified but my bf did the Open Water & Advanced, getting excellent one 2 one tuition from both Rachel & Ben. I would seriously recommend Manta Diving as their level of instruction is excellent, they are incredibly patient & provide a lot fun too. Rachel is a fabulous photographer & will provide a raft of information & tips - there are some amazing opportunities for photography. Make sure you check out the sea horse. The dives sites are great & there is a lot to amuse every level of diver. Would I go back - God Yes.... :o)

Rachel and the team were wonderful from the first e-mail I sent. Extremely helpful, professional, friendly, and great value for money. I had a great time in and out of the water. It's great for all level of divers, really can't fault them, everything was superb! And the beers were icy cold too at the bar above the dive centre, so a perfect way to cap off a great days diving. :) would go back anytime

Four of us went in December and did the two "Try Dives". Had a great time and would thoroughly recommend. Fed the crazy fish, saw an Eagle Ray and a sleeping Angel Shark on our second dive. Was pitched at the right level and length of time for first time divers, and were collected and dropped off at our apartment to boot!

Overall was great fun, great value, and am now doing the first PADI course back in the UK!

Despite sharing a surname, I have no connection to Rachel so this is totally unbiased !

As someone who at the time at had only completed a Discover Scuba Trial, I was made to feel very welcome by everyone I met at Manta.

Rachel and Andy (Ben was back in the UK) were very patient, knowledgable and professional in every way. Mix this with a great sense of humour and you have the making of a fantastic diving experience.

At less than €40 for a dive to 12 metres with one to one instruction from Rachel, I cannot complain at value for money.

Having now completed my Open Water course in the UK, I can't wait to go back to return to Lanzarote and Manta to undertake my Advanced Open Water course in the sun !
