Located about 80 kilometres south of Adelaide, this tourist haven was originally named Port Victor. A popular vacation destination in South Australia, Victor Harbour's population can swell from 15,000 to 50,000 during summer months due to the influx of tourists in the area. For this reason, a lot of hotels and resorts can be found in Victor Harbor. As mentioned, Victor Harbor boasts a lot of tourist attractions. One of the most famous is the Horsedrawn Tram to Granite Island, which was established in 1896. Another well-known attraction is the Rosetta Head, which is also called The Bluff. This place offers the perfect vantage point for whale watching as well as picture taking. Other outstanding places of interest around Victor Harbour are the Greenhills Adventure Park, Urimbirra Wildlife Park, National Trust Museum, and the Newland Memorial Congregational Church. As in other places in Australia, water sports are the favorite activities of holidaymakers in Victor Harbor. While the city is more well known for its pristine beaches that are ideal for swimming and wind surfing, Victor Harbour also has several excellent diving sites. Just some of the most popular diving destinations here are The Bluff and Wright Island. With a depth of 9 to 12 metres, The Bluff is one of the best scuba diving sites in Victor Harbour. The area has a good number of rocky reefs that can be explored by skilled scuba divers. According to seasoned divers, the perfect time for diving at The Bluff is every after north wind because it is when the visibility is better and the southern waters are calmer. The Bluff features a magnificent variety of fish species as well as several impressive kelp forests. An example of a marine life native to this area is the leafy seadragon. Meanwhile, located just several kilometres from The Bluff is Wright Island. An area populated mostly by fishermen, scuba divers have also flocked over Wright Island in recent years. This is because the place offers exceptional underwater adventure. With a depth of 5 to 6 metres, the reef area of Wright Island is relatively large and easy to find. The diving site has lots of rocky reefs with undercuts and holes as well as a fascinating marine life. Avis des utilisateurs
