Beqa (pronounced Benga) Lagoon, remote corner of Fiji, surrounded by one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, lies just 8 miles South off Viti Levu, just 130 km from international airport Nadi.  

Beqa Island has no roads, no towns and only a few isolated villages scattered around the perimeter. The island is skirted by stretches of sandy beach laced with mysterious tide pools.

Beqa Lagoon  offers some of the best scuba-diving in the South Pacific, with numerous dive sites located within the 65km square of barrier reef surrounding Beqa island. The area was famed for its incredibly varied sites which were home to some great bommies and rocky pinnacles as well as some of the best pelagic fish encounters in Fiji.

Reef Cod and Coral Trout roam the canyon-like gutters in these heads while pelagic fish hunt the reef fish on the periphery of the divers' vision. A lucky diver may be fortunate enough to see the Garden Eels swaying like living metronomes. And divers who hasten slowly through this underwater wonderland will take the time to notice the many varieties of nudibranchs in their diversity of shapes, sizes and colours. In some areas with tunnels and caves you can see huge gorgonias ('sea fans') and black coral trees hanging from every coral head.

Shark Reef: this area is shark special and local divers call it "3D Shark Dive". Here you can see 7 to 8 species of shark during one dive, and there are usually over 15 Bull Sharks! Sharks such as Silver tip, Nurse, Lemon, Tiger, Grey reef and the famous Bull shark regularly cruise this area. 

There are 2 famous wrecks to dive: the 200 tons Taiwanese Cargo "Tasu II" and the "Achi Maru".

Despite November to January is still open for diving we recommend to avoid these months because it is the windy season so it can be choppy and rough.
