Description for the dive shop Scubaqua Dive Center - St. Eustatius
Scubaqua Dive Center is located in St-Eustatius (Statia) in the Caribbean. We welcome divers in a personal way in a family center. We are all found of diving and underwater wonders that you can discover in our protected Marine Park! Scubaqua Dive Center is a member of the Association Longitude 181 Nature which advocates responsible diving in respect of the environment.
Diving in St. Eustatius is beautiful and can satisfy everyone : reef dives, drop offs, wrecks (including the largest of the Caribbean - the Charles Brown). The fauna and flora are very diversified: turtles, gray reef sharks, nurse sharks, barracuda, eagle rays, stingrays, spotted drum fishes, barrel sponges, gorgonian forests, etc.. St. Eustatius is also a Mecca for nesting turtles (leatherback, hawksbill, green).

Comme beaucoup de plongeurs, j'aime fréquenter des lieux différents, pour varier les plaisirs.
C'est ainsi qu'au hasard de l'organisation d'un périple nous avons découvert Scubaqua Dive Center, situé sur Sainte Eustache, Antilles Néerlandaises.
Il ne me paraitrait pas envisageable de dire du bien d'un club dont le matériel est déficient, ou dont le niveau des structures d'accueil, bateau compris, n'est pas à la hauteur du minimum requis.
En l'espèce, aucun risque, et c'est les yeux fermés que vous pouvez foncer chez Ingrid et Menno, dont le club et la localisation dans le monde vous réservent de bien belles plongées, confortables et en toute sécurité.
Mais la plongée est aussi une affaire humaine, et à ce titre il n'y a pas de doute qu'Ingrid et Menno ont bien des qualités que l'on ne trouve que rarement ailleurs: chaleur, générosité, gentillesse, respect.
Bref, de quoi transcender un séjour plongée en rencontre.

Je confirme que les Walther, qui ont repris ce centre depuis 2006, mettent tout en œuvre pour privilégier un accueil personnalisé de leurs clients et leur offrir des plongées qualitatives et respectueuse de l’environnement !
Résultat, c’est assez rare pour être souligné, ici on plonge en petit comité, presque en famille.
Bien que le bateau soit équipé pour accueillir jusqu'à 15 plongeurs, après 3 séjours sur Statia, je n’ai pas souvenir d’avoir vu plus de 10 plongeurs à bord (Staff inclus).
Un seul bateau est autorisé par site, donc impossible de croiser d’autres plongeurs que ceux qui étaient avec vous sur le bateau !
Un membre de l’équipe restera toujours sur le bateau durant la plongée afin d’assurer une sécurité surface et palier à tout type problèmes.
Je conseille vraiment le site « Grand Canyon » (Qui ne se fait qu’à l’Air, évidemment). Un canyon, formé par 2 coulés de laves, qui descend dans le bleu des abysses… Un moment inoubliable !

Ingrid and Menno are top notch! I really appreciate their attention to safety and each individual diver's experience. They make a special effort to guide you to amazing features in Statia. I had a fantastic experience with them....including seeing juvenile spotted trunk fish and baby spotted drums! Fantastic.

Diving with scubaqua is simply perfect. They have very good guides, it feels like you're a member of the Scubaqua family! They don't dive in big groups. One guide for a maximum of 6 divers. Experienced divers with experienced divers! A lot of divecenters have a dive-time-limit, mostly around 45 minutes, but Scubaqua doesn't do that. If someone reaches out of air, the diver will be brought to the surface with a goude [including dafetystp!] and the rest of the group will continue the dive with another guide! Statia has an unspoiled underwaterlife. Every dive is exciting, what will we see? The guides know the reefs very well and point to all things which are interesting. If you have special wishes? don't worry, your wish will come true at Scubaqua!!!

Great people and personalized services. After my first dive it felt like I had been there before. The staff imediately assessed my ability and made me feel very comfortable. They are ready and willing to help enjoy the experience. Statia is a great dive location. The water and reefs are prisitne and the dive sights are all close. I would go back and would encourage anyone considering a trip to see the folks at Scubaque

Scubaqua is situated on a not very touristical island in the caribbean, perfect if you dont like being asked to buy this or that every minute. The reefs are wonderful and the biggest wreck of the carribean (100m) is in scubaqua's dive area. All the reefs are very close, so you spent a max of 15 minutes driving to them before you can enjoy your dive. As a small dive center, the dive groups of Scubaqua small (max 12 people). You can be sure that only your little group will be underwater at one site and no other dive operator go there at the same time.
The scubaqua team is very helpful and competent and speak many languages.

Excellent centre de plongée, convivialité, sécurité, (ils font aussi des formations) gentillesse,loin de la foule et une grande variété des sites, entre aquariums, jardins, épaves il y a de quoi faire, dans un parc protégé en plus ...
bref des animaux qu'on ne voit pas ailleurs, et un accueil qu'on aimerait bien trouver aussi ailleurs
une destiantion à faire et à refaire, ... d'ailleurs j'y retourne bientot.

Une équipe enthousiaste et attentive qui vous fait partager son amour de la plongée.
Des sites magnifiques à découvrir en toute quiétude et sécurité. Le souvenir d'une raie aigle évoluant tranquillement entre deux coulées de lave au retour d'une plongée profonde.

A la limite, il vaudrait peut-être mieux ne faire aucun commentaire pour que Scubaqua reste le secret le mieux gardé des Antilles (néerlandaises).
Une île - St. Eustache ou Statia si vous préférez le surnom - comme il n'y en a plus - c'est à dire sans touristes. Un seul village ultrasympa et plein de bistrots pas chers. Ne ratez pas le succulent ragoût de chèvre chez "Chocolate" et tout ce que le "Blue Bead Restaurant" a en stock pour vous régaler.
Un "Statia Lodge" aux bungalows adorables dans un cadre magnifique - Aaah, le lever du soleil sur St. Kitts & Nevis! Raaah, le coucher du soleil côté Saba!!
Un club de plongée dans lequel vous êtes si bien accueilli que vous en repartez avec une seule envie: y retourner parce que c'est chouette de s'être fait de nouveaux amis.
Des sites de plongée pleins de bonnes surprises (surtout des petites mais les grosses n'en sont que plus appréciées). Soleil, bonne humeur, population amicale et absence totale de pièges à touristes.
A découvrir absolument mais surtout, n'en parlez à personne ;-)
