I booked to go with Santana Diving to the Similan islands in Nov 2012. I was sent all the info I required and I asked many questions regarding the facilities on the boat. It was only when I turned up to the office that I was informed by the owner (Andrea Hinrichs) that the boat was under repair and that I would be joining another liveabord boat.

In fact I was told during the trip by another diver on board that the Santana Diving liveaboard MV Discovery had sunk back in May 2012.

Also the equipment I had rented with Santana was old and in need of some mainteance. I had to replace me regulator on the boat for a spare one as the Santana supplied one had a faulty depth gauge and the BCD from Santana was leaking and torn.
