Description for the dive shop Kerveli Village Diving Center - Greece

The “Kerveli Village Diving Center powered by Beluga” is situated right on the premises of the Kerveli Village Hotel. It features a reception and sales outlet, an equipment storage facility, various washing basins, a workshop that also hosts the compressor and tanks and an open air shaded seating arrangement/bar with panoramic view. Courses are executed in a specially designated room in the hotel’s main building. The SSI base is DAN insured and Bureau Veritas certified. It features a specially modified Zodiak Hurricane for guided boat dives (plus a 5,5 meter back up boat) and is one of only a handful of diving centers in Greece with a home reef. Core activities include daily boat and home reef diving, diver certification and night dives and daily double boat dives. A third boat dive and night dives are executed on request.

About 25 dive sites are on offer and provide very diverse diving experiences: spectacular walls and canyons, wrecks, macro-life, caverns and above average fish populations. The average traveling time to the dive spots is 15 minutes, the maximum about 30 minutes. Visibility is typically around 30 meters, rarely (weak) currents and the spots are seldom visited by other dive boats.

The Diving Center’s Instructor and Manager is Giorgos Magganas, a highly experienced dive professional with a solid background in professional diving. He features about 4.500 dives and is certified in just about every SSI Course/Specialty available. He is also certified by the Greek Red Cross as First Aid Provider. His curriculum also features diving base management and experience with children (diving and snorkeling workshops). Apart from guided boat and home reef diving (including night diving), the SSI Diving Center also offers diver certification and most Specialties.

Groups are kept small (max. 7 divers on the boat) and are supported by a highly professional, friendly and service oriented team. The Diving Center offers home reef diving The Diving Center’s price policy is based on international criteria, which is considerably cheaper than the Greek average. The Kerveli Village Hotel is situated in the picturesque East of the island directly by the sea, on a hill with a panoramic view over the Kerveli Bay. 60 rooms are located in 6 independent buildings scattered around the large premises. The Restaurant serves breakfast and typical Greek food for dinner, the Bar by the pool serves small dishes, snacks and drinks during daytime. The walking distance from the pool area to the Diving Center is approximately 100 m.

In summary, an outstanding combination of diving and relaxation on an unspoiled island, rich in history and only a few hours flight time away from many European airports.
