Description for the dive shop TGI Diving-Maldives

The Maldives are located 900 km south-west of the Indian sub-continent. It consists of 2000 islands grouped in 12 main atolls. You experience your first view of the Maldives before landing in Hulule airport, with the images of white pearls surrounded by all the emotions of various shades of blue sea. The islands and the atolls pass right below the wings of your aircraft. The sea plays a predominant role in the Maldives, with its astounding variety of colorful forms of life. These islands sit on one of the most beautiful and breathtaking reefs of our planet, with overhangs covered by corals of all colors and shapes and caves carved in the reef walls.

Alimatha Island

Alimatha is located on the northern end of the Felidhu Atol, just 2 hours transfer by boat from the capital island airport in Male. The island itself is typical of the Maldives with rich green vegetation surrounded by white sandy beaches extending out into crystal clear warm water.

The Maldives is one of the most famous diving locations in the world, and Alimatha island has many stunning sites within range, dive excursions are generally one dive trips departing twice daily to the beautiful sites surrounding the islands including the national park area of Dewana Kandu, just 10 minutes by boat from Alimatha. TGI also arranges full day trips to visit two other national park areas.
Snorkeling is also a great way to catch a glimpse of the underwater world, TGI arranges night snorkeling trips for those who want to see the different colors and habits of the ‘night life' on the reef.
